Author Guidelines

Authors are requested to submit to the editorial board the following papers:

  1. Manuscript in .DOC or .DOCX format.
  2. Authors' questionnaire in .DOC or .DOCX format (download questionnaire form).
  3. Abstract of the department meeting (scientific council meeting, meeting of the organization collective)  record with the recommendation  to publish the article.
  4. Review of a specialist from a third-party organization (candidate or doctor of science in the relevant field) with the recommendation to publish the article.
  5. Act of expert examination as to the absence of information containing state secrets and the possibility of publication in the open press. The Act of expert examination form for the authors from NNSTU can be found here.

Scan copies of the accompanying documents should be sent via e-mail along with the manuscript text file and information about the authors. The original documents should be sent by post to the editorial office address.

Requirements for Manuscripts

Manuscripts submitted to the editorial board should fully comply with the requirements for a scientific work: it should include justification of the relevance of the problem under consideration, disclose a number of aspects of its current state, reflect the author’s personal contribution to its solution. The author's fee is not paid, the publication fee is not charged.

Material presentation should be clear and logically arranged. The following article structure is recommended: an introductory part with the justification of necessity and a statement of research goals, a theoretical analysis, methods, an experimental part, results and conclusions, a bibliographic list.

The main text should be typed without hyphens in 12 pt Times New Roman and Symbol. Footnotes and Endnotes – 10pt. Fields: left, right and bottom – 20 mm, upper – 25 mm. Document format: .doc or .docx.

The first page should contain the following information: UDC (Universal Decimal Classifier code); initials and surnames of the authors (exactly in this order); article title; place of work of all the authors (full name of the organization, city); abstract; keywords (not more than 10).

Reduction of words, except for the generally accepted, is not allowed.

Formulas and equations should be inserted with MS Equation Editor (Insert – Object – Microsoft Equation). Using the Formula Builder, available in Word 2007 and later versions (Insert – Formula), as well as third-party editors is strictly prohibited!

Tables should be named (11 pt, bold) and placed in the text, references to the tables in the text are mandatory (for example: see Table 2).

Images should be placed in the text, references to the figures in the text are mandatory (for example: see Image 2). Captions under images – 11 pt, bold.

Diagrams are made in Excel with subsequent insertion into the document in the form of a metafile (Home – Paste – Special Insertion – Drawing (Windows Metafile).

Graphic materials should be clear and should not require additional processing.

Image is made in .jpg (for photos) or .png (graphs, schemes) with 150-300 dpi resolution.

The bibliographic list is made in accordance with the rules of the interstate standard GOST 7.1-2003. The heading “Bibliographic list” – 12 pt, bold, centered.

IMPORTANT! At the end of the manuscript the information in English, containing the full names of authors, the title of the article, the name of the organization, the annotation and key words should be placed. The abstract in English does not have to be a translation of the Russian version. Requirements for abstracts in English are available on the link.

The minimum manuscript length is 6 pages, including images, tables and an English-language section.

Manuscripts of students are submitted only if they are written in co-authorship with the scientific supervisor.

The editorial board reserves the right to select and edit the materials received.
